One thing that you have to remember is the new cards have a much higher chance of being opened in packs. That being said, there are still many cases where players will open two Expanded Cards, one in packs and one in Standard cards. This means that you have to choose which one you will open first, but if you know which one you opened first you have a better chance of picking that card up.

If you are someone who is thinking about this, I would suggest you play the Expanded format more often as it allows for different card combinations, such as Raikon/Seed Flare agen poker, or Crobat/Mewtwo. You also have more variety and a lot more fun. There are some decks that I want to make an argument for playing Expanded more often, such as mono-fire lists.
